I started photography about one and a half years ago, from a friend who sold me his Nikon D70. I hesitated at first, as it was an expensive item to purchase (in hind site now, it doesn’t seem alot at all) and second of all, I wasn’t sure I wanted to take on photography as a hobby. I have always loved computer arts – graphic designing, 3D animation, Photoshop etc. I even went to get a degree in Graphic Design at a College on top of my Computer Science degree in University, and worked as a graphic designer for 2 years. Yup, I can use alot of these skills in photography. But photography as a hobby? Hmmm … it was distant in my mind. I had a Canon Powershot and I hardly used it.

My first camera was a Canon Powershot S70 – 7.1 megapixels, latest and greatest in the Powershot range. I used it for 6 months and hardly touched it after. Can’t remember why now, but remembered asking myself why I bought it if I wasn’t using it much. It even cost more at the time when I bought it than the DSLR I have at the moment. However, this Canon Powershot still exists. I’ve given it to my Mum. She always had an interest in taking pictures, so I lent it to her. It became all hers when I bought my DSLR one and a half years ago.

After buying the DSLR, my goodness has my interest bloomed in photography!! Not only have I bought more gears for my new found hobby, but I bring my slr camera with me everywhere. I love the quality of images it produces. I love the technicality in using it. I love the many lenses it can have to get the type of images you want. I love the depth of field (or blurs) in images you can create with this camera. I love the amount of artistic effect you can put in. And ALOT more things! It is very much a craft that takes many years to master. And THAT is what got me into it. Loved photography ever since and I hope for many many many years to come.

This blog is a photojournal of mine. The places I’ve been to, the people I’ve met, friends who are dear to me, friends who let me photograph them and those who won’t :), restaurants I’ve been to, my interests in things generally and others. I hope you enjoy the entries as much as I’ve enjoyed taking the pictures and sharing them.

You can view more of my photos in my Flickr site here. There isn’t alot of space to show all of them on this site.

Hope to hear from you.
